Ben Parkinson MBE – Spitfire Experience
After a year in the planning that involved a successful ‘250 mile Pelothon Challenge’ fundraising event, KryptoKloud finally and very proudly fulfilled Ben Parkinson’s dream to fly in a Spitfire. As the most severely injured serviceman from Operation HERRICK in Afghanistan, this presented a few issues. However, with funding secured, an Aerial Collective Supermarine Spitfire, lift capabilities from JR Crane Services, CAA Risk Assessments and Paul Bonhomme, a pilot with 40+ years of experience in Spitfire’s to Boeing 787 Dreamliners, and Red Bull’s Air Race most successful pilot, everything was in place. Taking to the skies over Duxford on Monday 18th March 2024, Ben enjoyed a 30 minute flight in perfect conditions that included loop the loop, a spiral manoeuvre and briefly taking control of the historic WW2 aircraft.
Additionally, KryptoKloud proudly supports the Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group https://hawkertyphoon.com/ . We have donated a further £500 to help Sam Worthington-Leese and the Project Team in restoring and getting a Hawker Typhoon air worthy, as one does not currently exist.
